Our new Disney Pool Home comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests. Recently constructed it has a living area of almost 2,000 sq ft with high vaulted ceilings and air conditioning throughout. There are 4 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen and a Games Room featuring pool and table tennis.

Of course the Disney Pool Home would not be complete without its own private heated swimming pool and sun loungers. It comes fully furnished with everything you need for a great Florida family holiday including Cable TV in every bedroom, a selection of good books and DVD's. Towels and bedding are all included and are always freshly cleaned ready for your arrival.

The Location

We chose our home at Davenport Lakes particularly for its location. It is in a quiet picturesque setting, close to Old Davenport Lake yet within a fifteen minute drive of the Walt Disney World Main Gate and the other theme parks, supermarkets and shopping malls. We also chose Davenport Lakes specifically because we do not have to struggle through the Kissimmee traffic to get to all the main attractions. It is so convenient.

The Community

Davenport Lakes has a great Community Facility just a short walk away and very close to the shores of Old Lake Davenport itself which provides our guests with boating access and fishing facilities. It is a tranquil private residential community where palm trees line the roads. An oversized Community Swimming Pool and adventure playground for the children comes free to all our guests. A fishing pier, a picnic area, basketball hoop and floodlit tennis courts are also available at no charge.

The Old Lake

The Old Lake itself covers an area of approximately 400 acres and provides many beautiful walks where children, or adventurous parents, can roller blade, jog or cycle. Water Sports enthusiasts can hire boats and go sailing, fishing or even water-skiing. Eagles soar and circle the old lake which is a sight not to be missed. Next door to Old Lake Davenport is the 'Bok Tower' Gardens and Sanctuary situated near to Lake Wales. It is the highest point on the Florida peninsula and is land-marked by the striking architecture of the Bok Bell Tower which was originally a gift to the state of Florida in 1929 by the infamous publisher and Editor Edward Bok. Surrounding the tower itself is an historical centre and a beautiful 128-acre botanical garden for lazy walks under the palms.

The Golfing

For golf enthusiasts there is a nine-hole course at Polo Park adjacent to Old Lake Davenport and an 18-hole public course approximately one mile away. There are many excellent and challenging golf courses in Central Florida including Greg Norman's famous one at Champions' Gate, with Celebration and Highland's Reserve all within a short drive. Check out the Central Florida Golf Guide which will give you all the information you need to know about the many golf courses in and around the area.

Both the Gulf of Mexico and East coast Atlantic beaches are well worth a visit and can easily be reached in just over an hour. Of course if you feel like driving a bit further you must go and spend a few days exploring the famous Florida Keys but please watch out for the wildlife...especially the Crocodiles!
